Salute to the Olives: Selected Writings by Omar al-Barghouthi

$22.00

Published for the first time in English and Arabic, Khabar Keslan presents 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π‘Άπ’π’Šπ’—π’†π’”, a selection of Omar Barghouthi’s writings accompanied by a variety of Barghouthi family portraits taken as they moved between prisons over the years, from Bir el-Saba' to Hebron and Ramallah.

In 𝑺𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒕𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 π‘Άπ’π’Šπ’—π’†π’”, Barghouthi takes us from the olive grove to the burning street, from the laborer in the fields to the scientist in the laboratory, and from the rifle of a revolutionary to the toy in a child’s hand. An imprisoned freedom fighter and writer, Omar Barghouthi left behind a notebook of poems, protest songs, short stories, and reflections that he compiled between 1976 and 1993.

Translated into English by Nourhane Kazak and with a foreword by Nourhane Kazak and Ben Rejali. All of the original archival materials were donated by the Barghouthi family and can be found in the Omar and Nael Barghouthi Collection hosted by the Palestinian Museum Digital Archive (https://palarchive.org/).
